Jane Teaster Frazier (2017) – Senior Warden. Jane is a “cradle” Episcopalian, born in Lenoir, NC, where her parents, Frank and Maxine lived, coached and taught at The Patterson School for Boys, an Episcopal Prep School. Her family joined St. Mark’s in 1969 after relocating from Columbus, NC with Milliken. Jane is currently on The Altar Guild and has previously served on the vestry. She retired from the Troup County School System after 30 years of teaching and being a Guidance Counselor. Jane is married to Tim Frazier and has 2 sisters, Susan (Atlanta) and Mary Alice ( St Margaret’s, Carrollton), 2 step sons, one daughter-in-law and a granddaughter, Izzie. Jane and Tim live in Pine Mountain on land that was once home to the infamous John Wallace with their 2 dogs, 5 cats and 2 goats.
Derek Bowen (2017) – Derek and his wife Carol have been members of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church since 1998. He is a lifelong resident of LaGrange and attended LaGrange College. Derek is employed with Milliken & Co. as a Development Engineer for the North American Airbag business. Derek’s service to St. Mark’s includes member of Vestry, Stewardship committee, and Capital campaign committee. He currently is an Usher and driver for Meals on Wheels. He has served on the President Board of LaGrange Personal Aid since 1993 and is the Board president.
Emily Terrell Pitts (2017) – Emily has been a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church since 1987. She is the daughter of Debbie and Bill Terrell. Emily and her husband, Greg, were married at St. Mark’s in 1998 and they have two sons, William (10) and Charlie (7). She is currently a member of the Altar Guild and assists with teaching Children’s Sunday School. She has been a member of the St. Mark’s Kindergarten Board, serving as president from 2006-2007, and has helped plan and lead Vacation Bible School. Emily is a teacher at Hollis Hand Elementary School and her family owns LaGrange Car Wash.
Jane Dailey Hollis (2018) – Jane was received into the Episcopal Church in June 2003. She has been a choir member since she began attending St. Mark’s in 2002. She also cooks for Meals on Wheels. After retiring as a school administrator, Jane became a weekly volunteer at Troup Cares. She also serves as secretary for the LaGrange Lions Club and the Choral Society of West Georgia and is a member of the Troup Cares board of directors. Her hobbies are reading, traveling, playing the piano, and cooking.
Lynn Orr ( 2018) – Lynn was received into the membership of St. Mark’s in 2003. Since that time she has served on the altar guild, the flower guild, Meals on Wheels, Phillips’ House Ministries, the community food closet, the advisory board of churches for LaGrange Personal Aid, CVEM board and St. Mark’s search committee. She completed the EFM course, and is happy to be serving her second term on the vestry. Lynn’s greatest joy is being married to Ron, being mother to Susan (Scott), Joey (Kevin) and grandmother to Nick and Jory.
Mel Stewart (2018) – Mel has lived in LaGrange since 2012. He is married to Ashley Stewart (M.D.), father of Jay, Wilson, and Gus, and son of Beth Stewart. He was born in Wedowee, AL, received education at Auburn University, University of Alabama School of Medicine, had a Residency in General Surgery at UAB Health Systems in Birmingham, AL, and a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at Tulane University. He currently works as a plastic surgeon in LaGrange, Newnan, and Fayetteville.
Jane Brubaker (2019) – Jane came to St. Mark’s in 1997 to serve as Director of Christian Education. She became a member of St. Mark’s in 1998. Jane serves as a Eucharistic Minister and takes part in the Reading Group, Popcorn Theology, and Sunday school. She completed the Education For Ministry course. She also serves as a volunteer at West Georgia Hospice. Jane is married to Richard Brubaker. Their family includes their children, Scott and Emily, a lovely daughter-in-law, Lindsay, and two precious grandchildren, Sam and Larkin.
Kevin Carlisle (2019) – Kevin is new to the St. Mark’s family. He was confirmed in June of 2016. Since then, he has enjoyed learning about the Church and is excited to be a new member of the Vestry. Kevin and his wife, Rachel, have two wonderful sons. Aiden (13) is a 7th grader who serves as an acolyte at St. Mark’s and Josh (21) is an English Major at the University of North Georgia. Kevin works for ATT as an Electronic Technician and just recently celebrated his 19th year with the company.
Betsy Skinner (2019) – Betsy has been a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church since 1987. She is the daughter of Debbie and Bill Terrell and sister of Emily Pitts. She and her husband, Robert, were married at St. Mark’s in 2005 and they have two sons, Rob (10) and Matthew (8). Along with Vestry, Betsy serves on the Altar Guild and helps with Children’s Sunday School. She has worked for Mac Papers since 2001 in sales.
Judy Price – Clerk of the Vestry – I knew there was an Episcopal Church in LaGrange before I moved here and I was grateful. I had no idea how quickly I would want to be a member of this church family. Currently I help with the Altar Guild and Meals on Wheels, but there are quite a few other things that sound interesting, such as Bible study and Poetry and Pinot. St. Mark’s is indeed a great place to be.
