The Phillips House Ministry is a local direct service ministry(formerly affiliated with the Chattahoochee Valley Episcopal Ministries). It provides assistance to families and individuals in need of emergency help. This ministry is coordinated by two volunteers from St. Mark’s and two from Advent Lutheran who alternate months. The coordinators meet with prospective clients by appointment only on the first Wednesday of each month. This ministry is supported by funds from alms-giving at St. Mark’s and Advent Lutheran. Direct assistance is in the form of help with rent, utilities, food, prescriptions, furniture, medical bills, tuition and books etc.
November 2015 Report
Income – $1790 Expenditures – $1400
This month Phillip House served 10 clients. Partial payment towards overdue utility bills were paid for an elderly woman who walked to St. Mark’s from her apartment on Whitesville Road. Also, utility assistance was given to a woman who is attending school, working part time, and caring for her sick sister.
At this time of year, needs are great and funds are limited. Thank you for your continued support of this very needed outreach ministry!
