Popcorn Theology

June 20, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Popcorn Theology is finally back! With the new guidelines sent out by Bishop Wright, we will return to the St. Mark’s Parish Hall. This means we can have pizza, wine, BYO beer, and popcorn! Oh, and we will be able to have super insightful conversations about our movie as well!

(Note that all in attendance must be fully vaccinated. If there is anyone who wants to attend but has not been vaccinated, please contact Jane Brubaker.)

Are you a movie buff or cinema junkie?

Does your mouth water at the smell of fresh popcorn?

Do you love sharing an evening at the movies with your friends?

If the answer is “yes” to any of the above, then St. Mark’s Popcorn Theology is a group you need to join!

We meet on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 5 PM for pizza, a movie, and some fellowship and discussion.  Please bring $5.00 to offset the cost of food and drink.  If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jane Brubaker (706-884-2838, janebrubaker@bellsouth.net)

This Month’s MovieKnives Out

Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson [. . .] pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect.  When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate.  From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death.  With an all-star ensemble cast, [. . .] KNIVES OUT is a witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.
