Serving in Worship


Group of people serving primarily during the 10:30 service in the following ways:
Torchbearers – light candles and enter with the procession (grades 3-5)
Clergy Cross – carry back cross in procession and during Gospel (grades 5-8)
Head Cross – carry front cross in procession and hold Gospel (grade 8 & up)
Acolytes serve on a rotating basis, about once per month


A group of volunteers who serve as greeters, provide the service bulletin, assist people to the pews, and circulate the offering plates. Ushers serve on a rotating basis, about once per month

Flower Guild

Alternating teams arrange and provide flowers in the church for all services


The verger assists on Sunday morning by unlocking the church and performing simple tasks to make the building ready for worship. Servinb at both the 8:00 and 10:30 services, the verger assists the priest in managing worship volunteers while also ceremonially leading the procession.

Choir and Music Program

Led by our Organist/Choirmaster, this group of volunteers provides choral and instrumental music for our 10:30 service as well as all special occasions. Practices are held after the 10:30 service or as needed.

Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors

A group of volunteers that can be assigned to 8:00, 10:30, and special services, dependent up on availability, generally once per month. At most services, the LEM reads the prayers and helps in the distribution of communion. At the 8:00 service the LEM also generally reads the assigned scripture lessons. Lectors read at the 10:30 service and occasionally at 8:00.

Altar Guild

Working together in small groups, rotating teams prepare the church for services in two week assignments about every 6 weeks. Duties include maintaining altar vessels, hangings, and linens, and presenting elements at the offertory during worship.
